FINE ART SCHOOL PORTRAITS

At Willow Studio Co. our goal is to provide a truly custom, boutique experience for every family whose school has chosen us to photograph their students.

Our service is both personal and professional. Unlike large corporate photography companies, we intentionally partner with a select number of schools in the Twin Cities. This allows us to offer exceptional customer service, thoughtful communication, and beautifully crafted images — without sacrificing professionalism, efficiency, or quality.

We believe school photography can be better.

Our approach is centered on capturing the true essence of each child in front of the camera. We never force a smile. There are no awkward poses or unnatural expressions — just authentic children, as they are in that moment. The result is genuine, timeless portraiture that feels worlds away from the traditional, overly staged school photos with busy backgrounds.

We create a light, relaxed, and fun experience so children feel comfortable and free to be themselves. When kids are at ease, their personalities shine — and that’s where the magic happens.

WHAT SERVICES DO YOU OFFER?

We operate as a fully online photography service. Each family receives access to a secure, private ordering gallery. Galleries are thoughtfully organized by grade, classroom, homeroom, advisory group, or any structure that best serves your school.

Each child receives 2–5 beautifully edited images, presented in both color and black and white. Families choose the images they love most — no pre-selected poses or packages. In addition to professional prints, we offer boutique product options including gallery-wrapped canvases and high-resolution digital files for future printing and archiving.

Prior to photo day, each school receives a detailed PDF outlining photo day preparation and complete ordering instructions to distribute to families.

All prints are ordered online and delivered directly to the school within four weeks of photo day.

We provide all equipment and professional staff needed for a seamless, organized photo experience.

Schools receive all high-resolution digital files for use in yearbooks, websites, marketing materials, student IDs, and other school-related needs.

We manage all parent and family inquiries regarding ordering and products, keeping your administrative workload to a minimum.

Staff and class composite photos are available based on each school’s needs.

We are also happy to collaborate on custom services tailored specifically to your school community.

HOW IS A FINE ART SCHOOL PORTRAIT DIFFERENT FROM STANDARD SCHOOL PHOTOS?

We’re so glad you asked! Our approach is intentionally different — and we believe, far more meaningful. Fine Art School Portraits focus on authenticity over forced smiles and personality over stiff posing. The result is natural, timeless imagery that captures each child as they truly are.

WHAT TIME OF YEAR DO YOU CONDUCT PHOTO SHOOTS?

We work closely with each school to schedule photo sessions at a time that fits best within your academic calendar. Sessions can take place at any point during the school year.

DO YOU PROVIDE CLASS PHOTOS?

Yes! Due to the nature of these photos, a class composite image can be created upon request.

ARE THESE IMAGES EXPENSIVE?

We offer competitive pricing with no upfront cost to the school. Families simply order the products they wish to purchase. Our à la carte offerings allow flexibility to meet a variety of budgets and needs.
